Filmed on the Qualla Boundary and Cherokee Nation, ᎤᏕᏲᏅ(What They’ve Been Taught), directed by Brit Hensel (Cherokee) explores expressions of reciprocity in the Cherokee world, brought to life through a story told by an elder and first language speaker. This film is part of Nia Tero’s Reciprocity Project.

On Saturday, Jan. 22, Circle Cinema is offering a free screening of the film with introduction by Sterlin Harjo and Q&A with director Brit Hensel. The pre-film reception begins at 2PM with the screening to follow. Tickets first come, first served.
